OptiBoost ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants optimize their store performance through image compression, script management, SEO analysis, and related tools. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

When you install OptiBoost, we collect and store:

• Shop domain and access token — required to access your Shopify store via the Admin API.
• Product image metadata — image IDs, URLs, original and optimized file sizes. We do not store the image files themselves.
• App settings — your preferences such as language, optimization quality, notification email, and Slack webhook URL.
• Optimization logs — records of which images have been processed, including before/after file sizes.
• SEO audit results — page titles, meta descriptions, broken link data scanned from your storefront.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To perform image optimization, script analysis, and SEO audits on your store.
• To display statistics and reports within the app dashboard.
• To send notifications if you have enabled them (email or Slack).
• We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on servers hosted by Fly.io in the EU (Frankfurt) region. Data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database accessible only to the OptiBoost application.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your store has OptiBoost installed. You can delete your optimization history or reset all settings at any time from the Settings page within the app. Upon app uninstallation, we will delete all data associated with your shop within 30 days.

5. Third-Party Services

OptiBoost interacts with the following third-party services:

• Shopify Admin API — to read product images and update them after optimization.
• OpenAI API — only if you enable AI-powered alt text generation and provide your own API key. Your API key is stored in our database and never shared with third parties.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store.
• Delete your data at any time via the app's Settings page (Danger Zone) or by uninstalling the app.
• Contact us with any questions or concerns about your data.

7. Compliance with Shopify Privacy Webhooks

OptiBoost responds to all mandatory Shopify compliance webhooks:

• Customer data requests — We will provide any stored customer-related data upon request. Note: OptiBoost does not directly store personal customer data (names, emails, addresses). We only store shop-level data and product metadata.
• Customer data deletion — We will delete customer data upon request.
• Shop data deletion — Upon receiving a shop/redact webhook (48 hours after uninstallation), all data associated with the shop is permanently deleted from our servers.
